Our Export department stays current with EAR, ITAR, DOT, Haz Mat and Export Compliance Regulations. Attending export and related seminars and courses provided by the State Department, Commerce Department and DHS (Department of Homeland Security) ensures that our staff is up-to-date on all export regulations.
A.J.Arango will review your export commodity and determine the required Schedule B Number, ECCN Number and if a State Department or Commerce Department License may be required. A.J.Arango will assure that the required AES – SED is filed as per Federal regulations.
A.J.Arango will provide guidance and assist you in applying for any required State Department or Commerce Department Licenses.
Automated Export System (AES)
A.J.Arango is compliant with the Automated Export System (AES) required by the U.S. Government. The system ensures compliance with the Export Regulations imposed by various government agencies.
The Automated Export System requires that exporters and carriers electronically submit export data to government agencies that regulate US exports. The system enables the various government agencies to monitor and enforce export regulations. Customs uses this information for risk accessment of export shipments and to detect possible fraud. It is also used by the US Census for trade statistics.
Duty Drawback
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) allows for the repayment of up to 99% of the duty originally paid on imported merchandise that is subsequently exported. If your operations include exportation of imported merchandise you should consult with A.J.Arango to find out if Duty Drawback is a viable option for you.
Subject to time limitation on the imported merchandise, Duty Drawback needs to be applied for prior to exporting your cargo.
Letters of Credit
